It’s always such a compliment when you get a call from a previous client asking when we’re available to come back and remodel another bathroom. Just to refresh your memory on the first bathroom remodel…

As in life, design is all about how you overcome obstacles and handle yourself and the client’s expectations when problems occur. The first remodel had its own challenges; incorrect tile installation, error in glass template for shower head mounting. And the big issue… no one knew how to mount a shower fixture to glass. We had some serious hurdles to jump to get that bathroom back in working order as well as managing our client’s fraying nerves. But, with grace, perseverance and a call to a friend and highly experienced general contractor we completed what we set out to do!

So, you can see why we were elated when the client called the following summer asking us to do the next bathroom in their house! Without hesitation we were off. It was our goal to finish ahead of schedule, on budget and exceed our client’s expectations… after all it was the tiniest powder room ever! What could possibly go wrong?

Demo was quick and easy; the general contractor and paper hanger were running on schedule; all items selected were in-stock and shipped… this was going just as planned…in and out in no time at all.

Two weeks before install we call to check on the hand-painted designer wallpaper. Problem!!! HUGE problem…our vendor tells us it had never been made! Half of design work is figuring out the design the other half is figuring out how to make it work when it doesn’t work out like you had planned.

Sometimes you have to go beyond the call of duty. Sometimes you have a take matters into your own hands. Sometimes things are out of your control. But, you ALWAYS have a choice in how you handle the situation. We can’t promise that problems won’t arise; that items won’t be on backorder; that vendors won’t ship things to the wrong address or fail to call when there is a production delay. But I can tell you that we always figure out a solution and always strive to meet and exceed our client’s expectations.
